Production Blog: Editing

Going into the editing section of this project was a bit difficult because I wasn't completely sure how to format it. I want to try to do this project in sections. The first section will be hockey and I'll put all the images and videos for hockey in there. The next, section will be gymnastics and I'll put my two images and videos from that. I may add a third section after that but I'm still unsure. So, to start I went to my previous blog posts to pick out pictures suitable for the hockey section of my post. I had already picked them out so all I had to do was download them. Next I had to find the video for my hockey section. This again, was pretty simple as all I had to do was look at old blog posts. After downloading the video I got capcut on my phone so I could start putting the project together. Once I put my hockey section together I started to work on the gymnastics portion. For this section I used one image that I had talked about in a previous blog post and switched the second image to something I felt fit better. Then, I had to find a video to add. My Dad had recently sent me a long album of pictures and videos from when I used to do gymnastics. I decided on a video of me doing my bar routine during a competition. The video was too long to add in to the project so I had to cut it down a bit. Finally, once everything was added into the video I added a few transitions. The last thing I had to do to finish this project was add some music. To do this I went through the lists of songs I made in my blog post about finding music to use and played them simultaneously with the pictures and videos. After going through all the songs I decided to use "Hard to Explain" for the hockey portion and "Nomu" for the gymnastics portion. I used a YouTube to mp3 tool to get mp3's of the instrumental versions of these songs off of YouTube. Once I had the songs downloaded I added them in and tweaked them so they'd fade out at the right time and mesh together well. Now, the main part of the project was done and I wanted to add some finishing touches to it. I put in a cover using a picture of me and the text saying "Commercial About Me". I also added in text to introduce each part of the project. The final thing I added was the cover art of both songs I used and I put them at the very end of the project. Once I believed the project was ready I downloaded the finished video and set it aside to be ready to submit. I'm still a bit unsure about the rubric and what requirements I need to meet so I may change some things later on but for now I am finished.
