AICE Media Studies

 While working on this project I learned how to use a few new pieces of technology. The first thing I learned how to use is blogger. I was able to create a blogger and make my own custom URL. After doing that I learned how to create a post. While going into making a post I had to figure out how to upload pictures into my posts with the import tool. Finally, I had to learn how to embed a video into my blog. I also was taught on how to use editing software like Capcut. To put this project together I had 2 weeks to finish it. While working on the project I learned how to split up a big project into smaller parts. When working on the project I divided the work into pictures, videos, music, and editing. On the first few days I gave myself time to find pictures that worked well with the project. On the second half of the first week I found videos. Then, on the first half of the second week I got my music options. Finally, With the last few days I put the entire project together. Dividing up

 Going into the editing section of this project was a bit difficult because I wasn't completely sure how to format it. I want to try to do this project in sections. The first section will be hockey and I'll put all the images and videos for hockey in there. The next, section will be gymnastics and I'll put my two images and videos from that. I may add a third section after that but I'm still unsure. So, to start I went to my previous blog posts to pick out pictures suitable for the hockey section of my post. I had already picked them out so all I had to do was download them. Next I had to find the video for my hockey section. This again, was pretty simple as all I had to do was look at old blog posts. After downloading the video I got capcut on my phone so I could start putting the project together. Once I put my hockey section together I started to work on the gymnastics portion. Before editing the project together I decided I wanted to get one more piece of media to show who I am. This final piece of media would be music. My music taste is very diverse. I like rap, pop, electronic, but mostly indie music. Since my music taste is as diverse as it is I wanted to try and stick to one genre so that the general mood of the commercial is the same throughout. So, I first went to Spotify to search for specific albums I like. The first album I looked at was “Is This It” by The Strokes. Is This It is one of my favorite albums so this was a very obvious place to get a song from. After listening to the full album I narrowed the choices down to “The Modern Age” “Soma” and “Hard To Explain”. I’ll decide which one to use when I start editing the project so I can see which song fits the best with the video. Next, I went through one of my favorite artist’s discography for my next few songs. In my last blog I found all of the pictures I'm going to need for this project. Now, the obvious next step for me is to find some videos. Finding videos is going to be a bit harder as I have less selection to choose from. Before I start searching I want to get a general outline of what videos I want to use for this project. After thinking for a bit I decided a video of me playing hockey, and a video of me doing gymnastics. For both of these I don't have a higher number of options or places to look so I started by going to my social media. On Instagram I like to post videos of me playing hockey so that was a good place to start. After looking through a few posts I narrowed it down to 3 videos. The first video shows me doing a no-look pass behind me which resulted in a goal. The second video shows me getting the puck in front of the net and passing it to my teammate with 7 seconds left causing my team to get a goal and the game ending in a tie instead of a loss. To start this project I needed to think about everything I had written down in my last blog post. I had to decide to first work on music, pictures, video, or figuring out how to edit. I wanted to start this project in the simplest way so I decided to find pictures to compile together. These pictures need to show a bit about me and who I am so I need to be very decisive in my choices. The first thing I decided to do was scroll through my camera roll. This was the obvious choice as that is where I have the most pictures of myself. For this project I am going to start from when I was younger and have the media be on a chronological timeline. Given this fact I scrolled all the way to the bottom of my camera roll. I haven't had an iphone for long so this only took me back to 2019. After seeing that my oldest pictures I chose to look somewhere else for pictures. Hello, in this post I will be going over everything I will be doing to prepare  for my AICE media project. For this project I need to make it all about me and my interest. With that in mind I decided to search for my favorite pictures, videos and songs. To start I want to find a base line for the project so I am going to look for pictures of myself. I will go through my google photos account, my social media accounts, and my parents photo albums. I will be looking for pictures and videos that highlighted who I am and interests of mine. So, I am going to try and find pictures of me playing sports and any accomplishments I have. I am going to have four categories for the media of this project. The first part of it will go over school and my accomplishments I have done academically. The next part will be about sports that I have done in my life like hockey, football, and gymnastics.  Hello, my name is Benjamin Shanker and this is my blog. On this post I'll be going over general information about me. Where I go and went to school, my hobbies, my sports, and what I want to eventual be when I'm older. I am currently a 10th grader and attend Fort Lauderdale High School. At FLHS I am a part of the law program and take Cambridge courses. I first was attracted to this FLHS because I heard that it has a very prestigious law magnet. Ever since I was little I would read novels about lawyers and the law, my favorite was Theodore Boone by John Grisham, and ever since then I've wanted to become a lawyer. Now that I started attending FLHS I decided to do the Cambridge program on top of the law magnet so I can hopefully go to either FSU or UF using a Bright Futures scholarship.
